Corrections Policy
We aim to keep every page on dents-soft.com accurate. When we get something wrong, we fix it and say so. This page explains what counts as a correction, how to report one, and what happens after a report is received.
What counts as a correction
- a wrong version number, release date, licence, operating system or system requirement;
- a free edition, trial or demo that no longer exists or has changed its terms;
- a broken, outdated or wrongly attributed link;
- a feature attributed to the wrong product or edition;
- a factual error in a guide or comparison.
Spelling and formatting mistakes are fixed without a note. Everything in the list above is treated as a correction and recorded on the page.
How to report an error
Use the Contacts page. A useful report contains the address of the page, what is wrong, and, if you have it, a link to the official source that shows the correct information. Developers and vendors may report errors about their own products the same way. We verify every claim against the official source before changing a page; we do not change pages on request without a source, and we do not remove accurate information because a vendor would prefer it gone.
What happens next
- Reports are reviewed by the editorial team in the order they arrive. Reports that include an official source are usually the quickest to resolve.
- Once a correction is confirmed, the page is updated and its “Last verified” or “Updated” date is changed.
- For a correction that changes the substance of a page — a different licence, a withdrawn free edition, a product that no longer exists — a short note is added at the end of the page describing what was changed and when.
- If a listing is wrong in substance and cannot be corrected, the program page is withdrawn from the catalogue.
We do not promise a fixed response time. Reports are read, and every confirmed error is corrected.
Removal requests
A program is removed from the catalogue when it no longer exists, can no longer be obtained from its developer, or no longer offers a free edition, trial, demo or viewer. Pages are not removed for other reasons, and placement in the catalogue is never changed for payment.
How this policy relates to our other pages
The Editorial Policy describes how programs are selected and where the facts come from. The How We Test page explains that our pages are verified against official sources rather than tested by hand, which is also why reader reports matter to us.
