What it does
- Loads CBCT DICOM data in its own fast DICOM viewer and aligns it with surface scans of the model or the intraoral scan. Extra tools let you refine the alignment.
- Plans implants from the restoration backwards: you set up the teeth first, then place implants to support them. Instant Anatomic Morphing adjusts tooth anatomy in real time as you move a tooth.
- Includes a library of more than 16,000 implants from manufacturers such as Straumann, Dentsply Sirona, Zimmer and Camlog, as well as many local suppliers. It also gives access to exocad’s prosthetic component libraries.
- Designs surgical guides with the optional Guide Creator module and exports them as STL files for any 3D printer or milling machine.

- Design the guide in Guide Creator, export the STL file and print it on your resin printer. Print the surgical protocol for the day of surgery.

Install and first run
- Getting a licence: exocad does not sell directly. Contact an authorised reseller listed on exocad.com. exoplan is sold only as a Flex licence with updates included, renewed every year. There is no permanent licence, because exocad keeps its medical device software under maintenance. The software stops working if the licence is not renewed.
- Hardware: exocad recommends at least an Intel i5-10400 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600, 16 GB RAM and a graphics card of the Nvidia RTX 2060 or AMD RX 5600 XT class. The minimum is a quad-core x64 CPU, 8 GB RAM and 4 GB of graphics memory.
- Licence dongle: you need a free USB port for the licence dongle. An internet connection is mandatory.
- Mac: exocad software is Windows-only. Virtual machines, including Parallels, are not supported. Boot Camp works only on older Intel Macs, and exocad support does not cover it. Apple Silicon Macs cannot run it.
- Implant libraries: keep the libraries up to date inside the software, so that implant and drill data match the manufacturer’s current kits.
